Campo de Hielo Sur

The Southern Ice Field is considered one of the world’s most remote and inhospitable places. Walking over this huge ice and snow plateau is one of the most transformative experiences for an explorer. If conditions allow for it, we will spend six days among forests, rocky slopes, lagoons, and vast ice and snow expanses, all surrounded by impressive mountains. This is a demanding 90 km hike expedition in a changing weather.

Hielos Patagónicos

We hike from the lodge bordering the Diablo River valley. We spend the first day among Patagonian forests until we reach the edge of the Diablo Lagoon. We sleep at the Cagliero refuge. The next day will be spent hiking up rock cliffs towards the Southern Ice Fields. It will be a day of contrasts between the valley, the lagoons, and this huge ice expanse. We camp through the night. On the next day, we enjoy the splendor of this place, contemplating the mountains as we descend over ice and snow, until reaching the rock of the Eléctrico River valley. We cross the river in a zip line and hike to a forest, where a van will be waiting for us to return to the lodge.

Los Valles

An Explora van will take us to the northernmost tip of the Los Glaciares National Park. From there, we begin crossing the Blanco River valley. We then hike up to the Los Tres Lagoon, enjoying an impressive view of Mount Fitz Roy. We then follow the valley to the Torre Lagoon. We reach El Chaltén after one day with different lookouts within the Los Glaciares National Park, to return to the lodge by van.

Cerro Castillo

Cerro Castillo Patagonia

We travel by van to El Bote Bay, a sector located outside the park. We start our walk in a cattle area and go up the slope of Castillo Hill until we reach the summit. From there, we have a 360 ° view of the park and its surroundings. We see hills, glaciers, pampas, lakes and mountains. We descend through a forested area to the van.
