Reopening of borders

We are happy to tell you that the countries where our lodges are located have opened their borders to foreigners. We invite you to read the entry requirements for each country.

We have created a support service for all passengers with reservations to help with the process and documentation required to enter and leave Chile, such as vaccine accreditation and other steps. For this, send an email to contact@explora.com and add your reservation number to the subject line

Entering the country
1) Complete the Sworn Statement at least 48 hours before traveling.

2) Present COVID-19 health insurance (coverage of hospitalization, isolation and/or medical transfer services).

 

Recommendations

  • We recommend that people with incomplete vaccination schedules have a diagnostic text within 24 hours after arrival in the country.
  • Mask use is mandatory inside the airport and throughout the entire flight.
  • If a positive or suspected case of COVID 19 is detected or reported at the point of entry, the Contingency Plan for that point of entry will be activated.

 

At the hotel
Masks are mandatory during van transfers to and from the lodge, as well as for transfers to explorations.

Entry into the country: Starting 01 October 2022.

  • Whoever does not have their vaccines must present a negative PCR test, taken from within a maximum of 48 hours from their departure time, to be able to enter Chile.
  • Minors (under 18) do not have any requirements to be able to enter Chile.

 

If you wish to enter as a tourist and you are from Venezuela, Haití, the Dominican Republic, Cuba or Dominica, prior to entry into Chile, you should have a Temporary Stay Visa. Dominicans who have valid North American visas are exempt from this requirement. Check which other countries require a Visa to enter Chile with this link.

Entry into the country: until 30 September 2022.

  • You should present proof of vaccination–along with personal identification–this will be valid as your Mobility Pass.
  • Those who have not been vaccinated, should present a negative PCR test from a maximum of 48 hours prior to departure from their destination, in order to be able to enter Chile.
  • Check here the documentation solicited for minors less than 18 years of age for entry to and departure from Chile.
  • The use of a mask is still required in closed spaces and in open spaces where it is not possible to maintain a distance of at least one meter between people.

 

If you would like to enter as a tourist and you are from Venezuela, Haití, the Dominican Republic, Cuba or Dominica, prior to entry into Chile, you should have a Temporary Stay Visa. Dominicans who have valid North American visas are exempt from this requirement. Revise which other countries require a Visa to enter Chile in this link.

Health measures

  • A PCR test performed no more than 24 hours prior to scheduled boarding in the place of origin.
  • Children under 6 must present a negative antigen test taken no more than 24 hours prior to scheduled boarding in the place of origin.
  • Active Mobility Pass (vaccination certificate and identity document, in case of foreigners)

To enter the country

  • Prior to boarding, all travelers over the age of 12 will present their COVID-19 vaccination card with the full vaccination schedule, in Peru or abroad. Otherwise, they must present a negative PCR test performed up to 48 hours prior to boarding.
  • Child under 12 years of age must only be healthy and have no apparent symptoms of COVID-19 to board.
  • People who show symptoms upon arrival in Peru will enter mandatory isolation.

 

Once in the country

  • Maintain distances of at least 1 meter
  • Use of KN95 or double mask (3 folds + fabric)
  • Ground transportation of people with all of the vehicle’s windows open.
  • In Lima use of masks will be optional in open spaces, as long as physical distancing is guaranteed. This measure can be modified according to the epidemiological context. Mask use is required in Cuzco.

 

At the hotel

  • Masks are mandatory during van transfers to and from the lodge, as well as for transfers to explorations.

Entering BoliviaVISA:

 

You must have one of the following to enter Bolivia:

  • Covid-19 vaccination certificate in physical or digital format with a two-dose or single-dose regime at least 14 days before the date of arrival.
  • A negative PCR test no more than 72 hours before boarding in the country of origin, or a nasal antigen test no more than 48 hours prior to boarding in the country of origin. Tests requested for people over 5 years of age.
  • Documentation requested for entry and exit of minors under 18 years of age to and from Chile. Entry and exit of minors from the country


At the border, you will have to complete:

  • Traveler’s sworn statement for monitoring Covid-19.
