Equine culture

The Quincho is a typical Patagonia experience available to our travellers from September to April –as weather permits– in which our gauchos prepare a spit-roasted lamb in a privileged location with panoramic views to Torres del Paine.

Quincho experience

explora Patagonia's architecture has received numerous awards, such as the first prize in the Tourism Services category, in the X Bienal de Arquitectura in Santiago, Chile.

Awarded architecture

explora Patagonia has its own catamaran, which is used exclusively by explora travelers to cross the turquoise waters of the Pehoé Lake towards the Grey Glacier and the French Valley.

    Wow! Wow! Wow!

This place is absolutely heaven on earth. Unbelievable location, killer lodge, great staff, awesome hikes, superb food, giant (and I mean giant) mountains EVERYWHERE! I've done a lot of hiking and have gone to a lot of eco-lodges in my day but this place is seriously off the chain. I'd go back every year if I could - and I might. You MUST go! Forget the cost, forget the distance - JUST GO!

    Comfortable way to experience TdP

We spent 3 nights in mid-April...and during our stay were able to experience all 4 seasons. Great location. Great staff. Daily excursions fantastic...able to choose based on desired level of effort. I did all day hikes, while my wife chose shorter ones. Fantastic horseback riding opportunities. Personable guides with small groups. All-inclusive food and drinks...very good! Round trip transfers included, appreciated due to remote location. Nice lake/riverside spa.... a bit of a walk from hotel. Outdoor hot tubs on the water much appreciated after those long hikes. Very comfortable and clean rooms. Fantastic views everywhere. Definitely not roughing it here! I would highly recommend for active people looking for a comfortable way to experience TdP up close, and for those looking to meet like-minded travelers from around the world.

Special doesn’t begin to do it justice

We stayed for 4 nights at the Explora, as the highlight of a planned 3 week trip to Chile and Argentina, and what a highlight it was. From the moment you are greeted by Gabriel, the manager, it is clear this is a top quality experience. Food was excellent, service amazing and the views worthy of any bucket list. Three days trekking was tough, but incredible and the weather was more than kind to us. This is a once in a lifetime experience, well done Gabriel and team for making this incredibly special.

    The most incredible stay ever

This hotel runs like a Swiss watch. We felt loved, cared for and at home in this beautiful spot. The hikes are extraordinarily led by exceptional guides to beautiful places. Their knowledge of the flora, fauna, geography and history of the area is unprecedented. They all have a special surprise for lunch on your full day hikes. The food, wines, service and staff from the van drivers to the housekeeping made sure all your needs were met. We are both fluent in Spanish but there are no language barriers no matter what language you speak. The spa, hot tubs and for those who dare a jump in the lake are a sure treat. Every penny one spends for this place is worth it. The memories will be with you forever. The office the staff works in every day will make everyone jealous!!! Thank you all for the memories.
