Explora Torres del Paine is located approximately 112 kilometers (70 miles) north of Puerto Natales along Ruta 9 and the Sarmiento road into Torres del Paine National Park. The drive takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours through Patagonian steppe and grasslands. Round-trip transfers between Puerto Natales and the lodge are included in every all-inclusive stay. Guests typically fly into Punta Arenas International Airport (PUQ), then travel to Puerto Natales by shuttle or private transfer before continuing to the lodge.

Explora Torres del Paine offers more than 40 guided Explorations, all included in your stay. The main trekking and expedition season in Torres del Paine runs from October through April (Southern Hemisphere spring through early fall). November to February offers the longest daylight hours and most stable weather, though wind is a constant factor year-round in Patagonia. Explora operates the lodge year-round; shoulder seasons (October–November and March–April) offer fewer visitors and lower rates while still providing full access to guided Explorations.

For travelers who want to maximize time in the park, staying inside is the better option. Puerto Natales is approximately 112 kilometers from the park entrance — a 1.5 to 2-hour drive each way — meaning a full day of exploration is lost for every night based in the city. Explora Torres del Paine is located inside the park on the shores of Pehoé Lake, with guided Explorations departing directly from the lodge each morning. Puerto Natales makes sense as a base for travelers on a tight budget or those doing a single day visit; for an all-inclusive expedition stay focused on depth of experience, the park lodge is the right choice.
-
Yes. While the park is most famous for multi-day trekking routes like the W Trek, Explora’s program of 40+ guided Explorations goes well beyond hiking. Options for guests who prefer lower-intensity or non-hiking experiences include horseback riding on Explora’s private Conservation Reserve, kayaking on the park’s lakes, wildlife watching for pumas, condors, and guanacos, boat excursions to Grey Glacier, and gaucho cultural experiences. Explorations are matched to each guest’s interests and fitness level daily — a non-hiker can have a full, varied stay without setting foot on a technical trail.
-

Spa facilities are included in the all-inclusive rate. Individual spa treatments are available to book separately and carry an additional charge. Appointments can be arranged at the lodge during your stay.
