Why explora Patagonia?

explora Patagonia was designed as the perfect base from where to explore Torres del Paine National Park. With an exclusive location and unparalleled views, you can choose among 40 explorations –either hiking or horseback riding– to some of the circuits of the renowned W and other less explored routes that will help you get familiarized with the typical geography and wildlife of Patagonia. We offer an experience where every detail of your stay, from the moment you arrive until you leave, has been carefully designed so you can explore deeply. This approach has been subject to worldwide recognition and awards throughout our history.

explora Patagonia is the only luxury hotel located within the Torres del Paine National Park, often called the heart of Patagonia.

Location

Due to its privileged location within the park, explora Patagonia has breathtaking views to the Torres del Paine Massif.

Breathtaking views

explora Patagonia is located on the shores of the turquoise Pehoé Lake, which was chosen by The Huffington Post as one of the world's most beautiful lakes.

Pehoé Lake

explora Patagonia has over 40 different guided explorations. All of them are led by our guides or gauchos and can be selected as halfday or full day, with different levels of difficulty and either as hikes or horseback rides.

Over 40 explorations

explora Patagonia has its own stables, located just 15 minutes from the hotel, with specially bred horses for the Patagonian weather and geography.

Equine culture

The Quincho is a typical Patagonia experience available to our travellers from September to April –as weather permits– in which our gauchos prepare a spit-roasted lamb in a privileged location with panoramic views to Torres del Paine.

Quincho experience

explora Patagonia's architecture has received numerous awards, such as the first prize in the Tourism Services category, in the X Bienal de Arquitectura in Santiago, Chile.

Awarded architecture

explora Patagonia has its own catamaran, which is used exclusively by explora travelers to cross the turquoise waters of the Pehoé Lake towards the Grey Glacier and the French Valley.

Our own catamaran

The Ona Bathhouse, located 100 meters from the main building, is equipped with an indoor heated pool, a sauna, and four outdoor Jacuzzis with views to the Paine River.

SPA

The Estancia 2 de Enero is a huge Patagonian ranch, property of explora, which is particularly ideal for advanced horse-riders.

Explore Patagonia

Walking in lenga tree woods, getting to the base of Paine Towers, riding a horse through the Park’s prairies and rivers with horses specifically trained for Patagonia’s geography or cruising along the turquoise waters of Lake Pehoé are some of the experiences suggested by explora Patagonia. Day after day, our guides will accompany you and help you decide what to explore based on your interests. Check the list of explorations.

Loved Our Stay at The Explora!

We LOVED our stay at The explora Patagonia. The view is incredible, the staff was lovely, but the guides, THE GUIDES really made our trip. So much fun and they really went above and beyond. Food was really nice - but we've heard that they're really stepping it up a notch in the coming weeks with a new chef so I look forward to reading more reviews on this.

Incredibly beautiful views with first-rate hospitality

The explora resort in Patagonia is set in a spectacular setting, with each guest room facing the large, snow-covered granite towers after which the national park is named. To make it even more spectacular, there is a lake in front of the towers, so that you also get to see their reflections in the lake. Add all-included hiking and horseback riding, as well as excellent meals and an open bar at no extra cost, and it is as close to perfect as any resort that I have ever stayed at.

    Rediscover your soul...

explora Patagonia is one of those places where you visit and the experience will forever be imprinted on your soul. We spent three nights - and my only regret was that I did not book for longer. From the moment you step inside this exquisitely designed hotel your mind, body and soul are transported to another dimension. The philosophy of the hotel is, like the name states, to explore. This is not a space to sit around but to rather gather a holistic experience of the magnificence that is Torres del Paine.

WOW, travel doesn’t get any better!

Check in was simple and quick. We automatically started planning our afternoon trek with one of the guides. Given about an hour to grab our gear we were out the door and excited to explore this untamed land. Our room was something out of a picture book!
