Terms and Conditions

Individuals Payment

All reservations are pre-paid. We request a 30% deposit to confirm bookings and the remaining balance must be paid 30 days before arrival to explora.

Cancellation fees

The following cancellation penalties apply depending on the cancellation notice provided:
•60 to 30 days prior to arrival at explora: US$ 200 per room
•29 to 10 days prior to arrival at explora: 30% of total reservation
•9 to 0 days prior to arrival at explora: 100% of total reservation

Christmas and New Year conditions

When making a reservation for Christmas and New Year at explora, the full amount of the reservation will be required to confirm, payable within the deadline provided by our reservations department.

The following cancellation penalties apply depending on the cancellation notice provided:

  • More than 90 days before arrival: No penalty
  • 90 to 61 days before arrival: 30 % of total reservation
  • 60 to 0 days before arrival: 100 % of total reservation

Special conditions for explora Valle Sagrado

Cancellation Policies:

Hiring third-party services –including the train to Machu Picchu or tickets to the citadel, among others– modifies explora Valle Sagrado cancellation policies regarding other destinations.

Consequently, if explora has hired third-party services (trains to Machu Picchu, etc.) when the reservation is cancelled, US$ 300 for every person and US$ 250 for every child under 11 years old will be discounted from the total refund for rates valid until April 30, 2018.

General fines mentioned above apply to the remaining cancellation policies.

Change Policies:

No fines for the Machu Picchu exploration will be charged if changes to the reservation date are made with at least 60 days in advance to hotel arrival date.

Changes to the reservation date made with 60 or fewer days before check-in result in charges amounting to US$ 300 for every adult and US$ 250 for every child under 11 years old for rates valid until April 30, 2018. These charges are for transportation and entrance tickets to Machu Picchu. Tickets are personal and non-transferable and are purchased to secure entrance once the reservation has been confirmed.

The new date will be scheduled based on availability.

**Regardless of the terms established by explora, if at the moment of changing the reservation date explora has not hired third-party services yet, no fines related to this exploration will be charged.

Booking with less than 50 days in advance

When booking at explora Sacred Valley with 50 days or less in advance, the Machu Picchu exploration is subject to train and entrance ticket availability.  If no tickets are available, explora will return the values for this exploration.

** For reservations made with 30 days or less in advance during the low season, exploration to Machu Picchu is subject to availability.

Two-night programs

Two-night programs at explora Valle Sagrado do not accept hiring the exploration to Machu Picchu.

Special conditions for Rio and Tapati Carnivals

Once the dates of the Rio and Tapati Carnivals have been confirmed, Holiday rates will apply. These rates require a minimum stay of 4 nights atexplora Atacama and explora Rapa Nui, respectively.

Other conditions

No pets are allowed in our destinations since our facilities lack the comfort they require.

Free wifi access in common areas. Rooms have no access to the Internet as they are designed to ensure complete rest.

Reimbursement Fee 

If paying with credit card, in case of a reimbursement, we will retain a 3% of the amount to be reimbursed. If paying with wire transfer, in case of a reimbursement we will retain a US$ 25 wire transfer fee.

Groups Payment

* explora defines a group as any number equal or greater than 15 travelers in the same reservation.

Like individuals reservations, group reservations are pre-paid. In these cases. We request a 50% deposit to confirm bookings and the remaining balance must be paid 120 days before the group’s arrival at explora.

Cancellation fees

The following are cancellation penalties applicable according to time of cancellation:

  • Up to 151 days prior to arrival at explora: US$ 200 per person
  • 150 to 121 days prior to arrival at explora: 50% of total reservation
  • 120 to 91 days prior to arrival at explora: 75% of total reservation
  • 90 to 0 days prior to arrival at explora: 100% of total reservation
