Setting a New Standard with Explora Conservation

Explora Conservation unites responsible exploration, community engagement, strategic collaboration, and visionary initiatives—such as our flagship Torres Del Paine Conservation Reserve—to protect and sustain the fragile and extraordinary destinations we are so privileged to explore. We believe true exploration is the ultimate journey to conservation. And our initiatives are woven into the fabric of every adventure we lead, ensuring that our guests experience the opportunity to protect and preserve alongside us.

Discover Our Conservation Reserves

Backed by more than 30 years of responsible exploration, we’re spearheading a groundbreaking model of fully protected, financially self-sustaining Conservation Reserves in South America. Offering unique Explora-only Explorations and membership opportunities, these Reserves support Explora’s vision to ultimately safeguard one million hectares — nearly 2.5 million acres — of the planet’s most vulnerable ecosystems.

The Torres Del Paine Conservation Reserve

A remerging Patagonian wilderness within the Torres Del Paine Biosphere, this 14,800-acre (6,000 hectare) Reserve created in partnership with The Nature Conservancy is defined by waterfalls, pampas, and magnificent wildlife — including the puma — and one-of-a-kind memberships featuring Explora’s first-ever homesites.

Defined by Responsible Exploration

The intention to witness, preserve and protect pristine natural places and local culture has been part of Explora’s DNA since its inception in 1993. Naturally opposed to a heavy footprint, overcrowding destinations and depleting natural resources, this innate passion to explore responsibly was born out of a deep love for exploring remote and wild places in harmony with local cultures and traditions, and the dream to share it with friends, family and generations to come. It is among the rewards of Explora’s promise to go deeper, and ultimately the promise of a journey to conservation.

Pillars of Explora Conservation

Our efforts are rooted in four foundational pillars that collectively empowers individuals, strengthens ecosystems, and elevates the standard for exploration, travel and conservation worldwide.

Community & Collaboration

We actively engage with strategic NGOs, our neighbors and local communities to effect positive, relevant, and lasting change in conservation.

Guided by Science

Our initiatives follow scientific methodologies and research, and rely on the continuous collection of scientific data, such as from wildlife trap cameras and performance indicators, with a commitment to be at the forefront of science in conservation.

Education Across

All Levels From local teens and staff to our guides and guests, we nurture ambassadors that return from our destination, share stories and help influence real change and movement. This is a powerful act of difusión: spreading the word.

Excellence in Stewardship

We seek to redefine the highest standards of stewardship, infrastructure and experiences at our Conservation Reserves, by training our own park rangers, designing trails that respect remerging ecosystems, and offering unique Explorations.
