School of Guides
Our passion for in-depth explorations requires appropriate guidance. We are not satisfied with simply offering passive contemplation from a distance; we want things to happen. Our guides are a fundamental part of explora.
Their role is so important, that we have developed a very rigorous recruitment process to select new guides, and have developed our own Guide School, where we train new guides in our own particular art of travel. Our guides are all young professionals who have taken a couple of years off from their chosen careers to pursue their passion for the outdoors. More than guides, they are travel companions for all our travelers.
Our guides are very knowledgeable about the geology, botany, zoology, glaciology, history and geography of the areas in which our lodges are located, providing each traveler with expert orientation to help them choose the explorations which best suit their interests and abilities.
All explora guides have Wilderness First Responder (WFR) certification, which guarantees that they have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide assistance to people in remote areas.
