We will enjoy impressive views of the Tunupa volcano, walk among a great number of cacti and unique rock outcroppings in the area, as well as see flamingos and the K'ajchi Island. Then, we will round the peninsula to climb up the other side and finally return back to the lodge.
Departing from the lodge, we will head towards the Salar on bicycles. During the summer season, we will pass through the quinoa plantations before entering the Salar through the main entrance. We will experience the unique sensation of cycling through this incomparable landscape with stunning views of the Tunupa volcano. We will arrive at K'ajchi Island, where we will have the option of turning back or walking to the highest point for an elevated view of the Salar. On the island, we will enjoy a snack before continuing our exploration, perfectly timed with the sunset. Finally, we will return to the lodge by bike or jeep.
We will start our hike from the lodge towards the summit of Cerro Wila Khollu. Along the way, we will come across a Pirwa, an ancient rock shelter used primarily for storing potato crops, as well as archaeological remains. From the summit, we will enjoy a spectacular view of the Tunupa volcano and the Uyuni salt flats. We will return by the same path until we reach the lodge again.
We will depart by vehicle from Ramaditas towards the Laguna Pastos Grandes area, where we will hike for 4 hours around wetlands and incredible rock formations called Yardangs. It will also be possible to see cave paintings and amazing high-altitude landscapes. We will enjoy lunch with great views before continuing our journey towards the Mountain Lodge in Chituca.
We leave Chantani by bike and cross sectors with quinoa plantations and different villages. Villages and agriculture can be seen on this route, which passes through Tahua, Chilguilla, Alianza, Caquena and Chiltaico. Diverse wildlife like vizcachas, hummingbirds and butterflies, among others, can be observed.
