Torres del Paine

• Connecting to Puerto Natales by way of Santiago: We recommend that travelers take a direct flight from Santiago to Puerto Natales with Latam or Sky airlines, which are the ones that provide this service.  Upon arrival at Puerto Natales Airport, our team will take you by van transfer to the lodge in Torres del Paine, a scenic journey lasting approximately 1.45 hours. Transfer pickups are available at 12:00 and 15:00 and should be arranged in advance with our booking team.
• Connecting to Punta Arenas by way of Santiago: Upon arrival at Santiago de Chile’s International Airport, you must connect to the city of Punta Arenas, approximately three and a half hours away. From Punta Arenas Airport, a team member will drive you to Explora in Torres del Paine, approximately 4 and a half hours away, according to a pre-set schedule, with a stop for rest and lunch.
• Connecting from/to the Patagonia National Park: Experience the stunning scenery of Chilean Patagonia at our lodges in Torres del Paine and Patagonia National Park. Take advantage of our 1.5-hour lodge-to-lodge flight, for our Explora guests, over the Andes Mountain Range and the southern ice field. Available every Monday and Thursday from October 3rd to mid-April, this convenient flight option provides a unique perspective of the region.*Travel light with a soft suitcase weighing up to 20 kilograms. • Connecting to Cerro Castillo in Chile by way of El Calafate and Buenos Aires, Argentina: Upon arrival at Buenos Aires Airport, you must take a connecting flight to El Calafate, which takes approximately three and a half hours. From El Calafate, take a bus or transfer to the Chilean border, which is approximately 4 hours away. Upon arriving at Cerro Castillo, our team will drive you to Explora in Torres del Paine. The schedule for this transfer is programmed for noon. Please arrange a private transfer service through our reservation team if you require another schedule.

PICK-UP IN PUERTO NATALES

• Puerto Natales Airport: The pick-up times at the airport are at 12:00 and 15:00*, free of charge. Additional shuttle services are available at an extra cost. Flights to Puerto Natales are available on certain days of the week.
• Puerto Natales Hotels: The pick-up times from hotels in Puerto Natales are between 11:00 and 12:00, free of charge. The specific time will be confirmed by our reservations team or by Explora Torres del Paine and the driver will only be able to wait a maximum of 15 minutes from the scheduled pick-up time.
• Puerto Natales Port: The pick-up times are between 11:00 and 12:00, free of charge. The specific time will be confirmed by our reservations team or by Explora Torres del Paine and the driver will only be able to wait a maximum of 15 minutes from the scheduled pick-up time.

PICK-UP IN PUNTA ARENAS

• Punta Arenas Airport: The pick-up times at the airport are at 10:00 and 15:00*, free of charge. Additional shuttle services are available at an extra cost.
• Punta Arenas Hotels: The pick-up times from hotels in Punta Arenas are between 09:00 and 09:30, free of charge. The specific time will be confirmed by our reservations team or by Explora Torres del Paine and the driver will only be able to wait a maximum of 15 minutes from the scheduled pick-up time.
• Punta Arenas Port: The pick-up times are between 11:00 and 12:00, free of charge. The specific time will be confirmed by our reservations team or by Explora Torres del Paine and the driver will only be able to wait a maximum of 15 minutes from the scheduled pick-up time.

PICK-UP IN CERRO CASTILLO, CHILE

The pick-up time is at 12:00, free of charge. (Cerro Castillo is near the Chilean border with Argentina).

PICK-UP IN EL CHALTÉN, ARGENTINA

During certain months of the year and depending on the schedule, a transfer service is offered between Explora Torres del Paine and Explora in El Chaltén, exclusively for travelers with a connection. *Consult your travel agent for availability.

DROP-OFF IN CHILE

We have three departure times from our lodge:

• 07:00: The estimated arrival to Puerto Natales is at 9:00 and to Punta Arenas at 12:30.
• 10:00: The estimated arrival to Puerto Natales is at 12:00 and to Punta Arenas at 15:00.
• 12:00: The estimated arrival to Puerto Natales is at 14:00 and to Punta Arenas at 17:00

DROP-OFF TO ARGENTINA

• Argentinean border with Chile “Cancha Carrera”: Drop-off at noon.
• El Calafate: Departure from Explora Torres del Paine at 09:00, arriving at The Calafate hotels at 15:00 according to the timetable.

*Check with your executive for pick-up points within the park.

**All drop-offs pass through Puerto Natales first and then Punta Arenas.

*** Only for programs with transfer service included.

Check-in: Check-in takes place as of 13:00 p.m.

Check-out: Check-out must be at 10:00 a.m.* If you want to take a half-day exploration, you have to check out before leaving to the exploration and we will take care of your luggage.

*Lunch service is not included on check-out day

Ground transportation by van between Explora Torres del Paine and Explora El Calafate or Explora El Chaltén is available daily at 9:00 a.m., at an additional cost. 

• Transfers may be private or shared, with a minimum of two passengers. 

• Private transfers accommodate up to six passengers. 

• Both routes depart at 9:00 a.m. to allow sufficient time for the border crossing. 

• All transfers must be booked in advance, and availability must be confirmed with our reservations team at reserve@explora.com.

Distances: 

• The trip between Torres del Paine and El Chaltén covers 402 km (250 miles) and takes approximately 8–9 hours. 

• The between Torres del Paine and El Calafate covers 374 km (232 miles) and takes approximately 5–6 hours. 

• Limited availability. 

• Transfer service includes passenger pick-up and drop-off only between Explora Torres del Paine, Chile, and Explora El Chaltén, Argentina. 

• Transfers operate seasonally, from October through April. For other dates, please inquire about private transfer options. 

• Explora is not responsible for delays that may occur due to border crossings or road conditions.
