“Amazing Destination and Property!”
“I can’t say enough positive things about our stay at explora Patagonia. Such a caring staff greeting you personally when you arrive and hugs upon departure. We were able to enjoy the park practically to ourselves by being there in June and it was great. Guides were knowledgeable and fun to hike with. Definitely an experience of a lifetime!” CMH45.
“Wished I had more time”
“Exceptional experience and I recommend explora for everyone wanting to get into Torres Del Paine. Beautifully appointed room, stunning food, and service from the entire crew. Our guides incredibly knowledgable and also lovely caring people. I left wanting more with precious memories shared with friends and a real desire to return again. Thank you explora team.” Evmoreno
“Worth the cost”
“This resort is worth every penny you pay. The location is unparalleled. There are hikes and horseback rides for every ability level, and the guides are friendly, encouraging and informative. If you want to go to Patagonia, this is the way to go.” Mary S.
“As a child I saw the Torres del Paine and have remembered them since as the most beautiful scenery I had ever seen. I was finally able to return after 45 years and the area is even more beautiful than my memory had it. As to where to stay, as once-in-a-blue-moon splurges go, I don’t think you can beat explora. Location, location, location. Beautiful rooms with unsurpassable views. Everything else is great – hikes, horseback riding, guides, food, pool/spa, pisco sours – but secondary to just looking out the window and marveling. Have not visited the more distant (from the Torres) hotels, but whatever the comparative merits on other items, can’t imagine staying anywhere but here once one has made the long but totally worth it trek to one of mother nature’s most spectacular achievements.” gonebabygone5
“Explora Patagonia has it all – service, comfort, and great explorations”
“We had a great time at explora Patagonia. The service was warm and friendly and the rooms were very comfortable. You feel like you’re on a ship given all the wood and water views. While the service was great, the real standout is their hikes and amazing guides. Alvaro, Caro and Maki were all great. The hikes were beautiful and challenging and the guides worked to match you with the right activity and then impart knowledge during the hike itself. We can’t recommend highly enough and the concept of picking your day activity the evening before.” NapaTJ.
“The definition of extraordinary”
“We wanted to do something different and this trip did not disappoint! First and foremost the location is phenomenal and allows you to go on explorations of Torres del Paine with reasonable ease. The guides were professional and informative and the choices of explorations very interesting and diverse according to your interest and physical abilities. It is highly recommended that you try to be in good physical condition to take full advantage of the offerings. Even the easy hikes can be strenuous if you are not used to hiking up and down some hilly and sloping terrain. There is information about the length of the hikes and the vertical ascent that will give you an idea of how strenuous the hiking will be. We went to a Quincho barbeque lunch with the gauchos which was delicious and interesting. I highly recommend it! The horses that we rode were very well behaved and great for the beginner or experienced rider. We were there the first week of December which was a great time of year. The hotel was not very full and some of our hikes and horseback rides were just me and my husband with one or 2 guides. This place is far from ordinary – it is the definition of extraordinary!” Aileen F.
“Best trip ever”
“We visited explora Patagonia recently and it was honestly our best trip ever! Our 2 guides Alex and Nicholas were both amazing and extremely knowledgeable. Our hikes were eye opening and even though we have never done horseback riding before the Gauchos made our rides enjoyable and comfortable. The food and service were always impeccable and the view from our room was truly postcard worthy. I would highly recommend explora Patagonia to everyone and believe this is one you should never miss!” Fred L.
“Remarkable place for a glorious trip”
“Truly outstanding hotel with staggering vistas of the Cuernos del Paine as well as superb staff, guides, food and drinks. The park’s offering of superb hikes through forests and wide open spaces as well as hills and mountains is spectacular. Together with views of glacial lakes and rivers, the park’s magnificence is enhanced by staying here. The guides’ knowledge and enthusiasm bear emphasis as does the excellent cuisine and service. The rooms have phenomenal views of Lake Pehoe and the mountains. Have already strongly recommended explora patagonia to several friends and colleagues in our first week back from our trip.” James S.
“Faultless service and excellent guides and activities”
“I would highly recommend this hotel to those looking for a luxurious standard of hotel and service, but those seeking the adventure and activities that explora offers as their inclusions. We did biking and hiking with excellent guides to areas where there are no tourists so you see the real Sacred Valley and its people. I would highly recommend explora.” Jess B.
“Luxury and outdoors – the bomb”
“I generally am not a big fan of all inclusive, but oh boy does it work in this place. They actually want you out of the hotel to do hikes, bike, visit local towns and sights and then make sure the essentials are perfect. Great food, good drinks (inc cocktails) and perfect rooms. Environmentally conscious and in sync with local communities (its their policy to get majority of staff locally and lots of other interaction). They really go off the beaten track. Hikes are unbelievably beautiful and there are good levels for everyone. To single out one person, guide Bruno was great. We met zero other tourists….” Jellemir.
“Great time at explora. Everything is perfect and the explorations unique. You see things from another perspective. Guides well prepared. After the exploration, the staff is waiting for you with excellent drinks and foods.” Rafael R.
“We loved explora Rapa Nui and loved even more explora Valle Sagrado! The hotel is fantastic, with comfortable rooms and excellent food and beverages, all included. The staff is absolutely perfect, all of them! I admire the hotel for its compromise with the environment, and also for employing mostly locals, from a nearby town. There are about 25 different places to explore, like Cuzco and Macchu Picchu, accompanied by the best guides! I highly recommend staying in explora. As we visited the Spa was still under construction, a very impressive building done by reconstruction of ancient Inca ruins.” Tania Dunker.
“Heaven in the Sacred Valley”
“From the moment we were picked up at the airport to them moment we were delivered to the doorway of our Cusco hotel, we were treated like visiting royalty. Every member of the staff – whether guide, restaurant/bar, reception, chambermaid or management – was friendly, welcoming and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and to make our stay memorable in every way. I highly recommend this exclusive “base camp” for all your hiking dreams. We all learned so much about Peru and the Sacred Valley: the history of the indigenous people to food, birds, flora, and fauna. This was truly an amazing trip, and the highest accolades go to explora Valle Sacrado!” Donna B.
“The best experience in the Sacred Valley”
“The hotel is excellent in every respect: the rooms are amazingly comfortable and have a wonderful view. The food is excellent, both in quality and quantity. The explorations are led by knowledgeable guides with exceptional people management skills. In many cases, explorations are original and can only take place here.” Eche B.
“Simply stunning accommodation, location, staff, food, and service”
“Three-night stay probably wasn’t long enough. Fantastic location, excellent service, brilliant sightseeing, and exploring. When we didn’t want to do a specific hike one day so an amazing itinerary was tailor-made for us to have a full day seeing all the major sites, with a driver and guide at our own pace, very good personal service.” Debbie M.
“Stunning property and location, authentic experiences”
“The new explora property takes a traveler’s experience in the Sacred Valley to the next level. Gorgeous lodge with attention to detail and great local staff. All planned activities showcased not only the stunning mountains and valley but also the authentic culture of the Quechua people of the Sacred Valley. 10/10.” Samantha D.
“The greatest place to be in Rapa Nui !”
“If you are looking not only for a hotel but for a place from where you can truly explore the Island then explora is the best place to go. Excellent service not only in the hotel but also outside, during the explorations with great trained guides that are happy to show you their amazing Island.” Annalisa S
“Unique resort with a rustic appearance but first-class amenities and exceptional staff. Room was comfortable with a terrific view and a huge jet tub. Common areas were likewise very comfortable, but the real treat was the staff – the restaurant wait staff, the guides and especially bartender Magdalena, all of whom made every effort to ensure everybody in our group enjoyed every aspect of the stay. A truly special time.” Dougranson.
“Dream Trip Came True”
“explora Rapa Nui is located in a farm. As such, part of the fun was watching horses and cows gazing 3 feet away from our window in early morning. The building itself blended in the landscape and had a spectacular view to sun rise from the Pacific Ocean. The food was simply supreme – delicious, healthy, and well portioned. The excursions they offered not only covered the highlights of the island but also off the beaten path gems. For example, we went on a full day hike along the North Coast, visited remote cave, moai, and settlements. The staff were friendly and enthusiastic. We could not imagine a better way to explore this beautiful and historical island.” Jeff_and_Kalin.
“This has been one of the most exquisite experiences I ever had related to luxury hotels. explora Rapa Nui offers you a royal-like experience, respecting all the landscape around and the history of Rapa Nui people.” Sylvia G
“Explora made a fascinating and beautiful place even better!”
“We stayed at explora Rapa Nui for four days in January. The accommodations were lovely and fitting for the environment and in a quiet area. The staff was superb and attentive. They noticed from my husbands passport that it was his birthday and commented on it….he didn’t want a fuss and said to please not sing, etc. However, they discretely brought a small birthday cake to our table for dessert and had a small gift and a flowered “celebration hat” in our room. The bartenders and the dining staff were quick to remember details we liked and the food served was well prepared and delicious. Most importantly, the guides were outstanding! We had several different guides for our twice a days outings and they were all very knowledgable, good humored and fun. They had a knack of putting similar interested people together and discussing the potential trips ahead to help us decide what to see when. We experienced an unusual (for January) streak of very rainy weather but other than not being able to see in the crater the day we went, we took two trips everyday with a short hike the afternoon we arrived and felt we had had an excellent view of the important sites. Several of our guides were Rapa Nui and spoke excellent English and it was nice to hear their perspective on their culture and history. We will certainly use Explora again if we travel to other areas where they have facilities.” Ann D
“I spent a few nights with friends. When we booked it, I thought it was expensive, but when you see the place and you think that everything is included, the price is fair. Great hotel, the staff is very good, all the day trips are incredibly prepared and the restaurant is great.” Carlos Noval.
“Before saying anything about explora, I have to mention that Rapa Nui is a unique destination and a great experience. Nature and history combined in a perfect way! So glad I have been there, it was on the top of my Bucket list and it reached every expectation. Having said that, I cannot think of a better place to stay there besides explora. We, my husband and I spent four nights there in November. The hotel is totally incorporated to the landscape with a nice architechture. We arrived late at night and were welcomed by a light dinner and friendly staff. The check in took less than five minutes. The room is spacious and beautifully decorated all in wood and concrete totally adapted to the landscape and very cosy. Excellent sleep quality, dark and silent in a comfortable bed. The bathroom has a powerfull shower and nice tub. And best of all, windows! The guides are ready to assist you to choose the best hike, bike tour, etc. Always open to discuss and answer your questions. All the hikes were great and a paradise for those who love nature, hikes, sun, outdoors and silence. It is one of the last places to go where you don’t find hundreds of people competing for the best selfie in front of a turistic point. The hotel doesn’t have TV and wifi is only available in the main lodge. But who needs more when you are in Rapa Nui! The only thing that could be improved is the food. It is good but not excellent and they could give you more options to choose. Exception made to breakfast that was the best meal of the day always. Definetly recommend!!” Saopaulo36.
“Beautiful and Enjoyable Experience”
“My wife and I recently stayed at explora Atacama, and can highly recommend the experience. The scenery is spectacular, the guides are knowledgeable, the food is excellent and extremely plentiful, and the service couldn’t get better. Definitely excited to check out Rapa Nui as well!” andrewhyman1.
“explora is faithful to it’s reputation”
“A great experience awaits you at explora Atacama, as in their other properties. Here the luxury is more outdoor, this said the indoor is great. Nice and comfortable room, tastefully designed and decorated and very practical. The common areas are huge, with lots of space in this brand new building, and the staff is faithful to explora’s reputation. Great team of guides, waiters, and waitresses very attentive, very nice will make you feel at home. Food’s excellent, the outdoor swimming pool area is amazing, with no less than 4 big pools, steam, and sauna, etc. And of course, the excursions are almost unlimited, guided by very nice and friendly guides.” Nicolas J.
“Our stay at explora was one that we will never forget. This hotel is all about the adventure and truly exploring the Atacama desert. There are plenty of breathtaking sights and each evening one plans 2 guided hikes for the following day. The guides are exceptionally knowledgeable on the surroundings & so friendly -they are eager to tell you more about the desert, the hidden gems and history of Atacama. There is no tv or wifi in the rooms – which is actually a great thing as it allows you complete peace and rejuvenation. The food was exceptional too! No complaints about this one.” Leandra S.
“Fantastic Place and Staff”
“explora Atacama recently reopened after having had a fire. It is absolutely wonderful! The managers, the guides, the staff are all so wonderful and helpful. They bend over backward to arrange what you want to do. The rooms are beautiful, the food is great and the desert is a wonderful place to visit! The hikes and overland trips were great! We couldn’t have been happier!” Elski53.
“An excellent resort with fabulous explorations”
“The explora does a fantastic job at making its guests feel welcome. The guides were notable in that they are all clearly very well trained and experienced – and were also all very approachable, personal and encouraging. The set up facilitates getting to know other travelers – something that can really add to a trip. It is a pricey stay, and while the food was good it wasn’t always the best, but the facility is fabulous. The menu was interesting and quite healthy but could have used a bit more variety. The pools are beautiful and the bar is great – there was no shortage of snacks on hand. They have a very good assortment of excursions available for all types of guests. Additionally, they have a small star gazing facility on the property which is worth going to. A wonderful place to explore the desert.” Jencor2015
“Excellent hotel to explore the Atacama Desert”
“The explora hotel makes a very interesting proposal: to take us away from daily worries and the digital world and help us establish a true connection with nature and the beauties of the Atacama Desert. It’s a mistake to think that there is nothing to do in the desert. With the support of the amazing hotel guides, you can accomplish several explorations: either walking, horseback riding, by bike or van. The explora hotel’s architecture is at the same time rustic, modern, comfortable and innovative.” Marcelo B.
“I’m just back from the trial period of the new hotel (after they build it again after the fire they had last year). The rooms are very good and as there were before, the common space had been restored completely, including the restaurant and bar but the main attraction are the explorations, they have more than 40 different exploration tours (all included) on the valley, some new ones as “Ruta del Agua” and a new Tatio walk that are incredible. The service outstanding, the guides excellent and very into their explorations, the site unbelievable”. Eduardo R.
