“Rediscover your soul…”

explora Patagonia is one of those places where you visit and the experience will forever be imprinted on your soul. We spent three nights – and my only regret was that I did not book for longer. From the moment you step inside this exquisitely designed hotel your mind, body and soul are transported to another dimension. The philosophy of the hotel is, like the name states, to explore. This is not a space to sit around but to rather gather a holistic experience of the magnificence that is Torres del Paine. We climbed mountains and we were treated to breathtaking views of extraordinary vistas. The guides who are so thoughtful and knowledgeable, design walks/rides/experiences to suit your individual fitness levels – and groups are never more than 8. We spent a morning tracking Pumas, afternoons riding horses over mountains and valleys with the Gauchos. After, it’s time to sip sparkling wine and relax in a hot tub as the day sinks into the night. Then the delicious meals – breakfast, lunch, and supper – each a masterpiece. So you get it – it’s a special place. However, what makes it really special- is the staff. Such warmth, welcoming and thoughtfulness – I cannot single one person out; the waitress at dinner – always so attentive, the guides – so attuned to the environment, the front desk who prove that nothing is impossible -I could go on; all the staff is exceptional.

There is a quote by the poet T.S Elliot at the bar; ‘We shall not cease from exploration and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time’. To be surrounded by these mountains, the magnificence and magnitude will literally transport your heart and mind to an ethereal place. If you want to take yourself on an adventure to let your soul take flight and rediscover yourself – look no further!” Africanlover.

“A great place to explore an amazing area”

“This place is amazing. The ethos of explora is all about getting and discovering the Sacred Valley and they do it brilliantly, from some fairly gentle hikes to some testing treks. Some treks take in some of the ‘sights’ but by hiking in and hiking out you get a completely different perspective. Other treks go where you stand no chance of seeing a tour bus. The hotel is great too; it’s been created with real style. Best of all, the folk at explora bring the place alive – they have helped make this a really special time.” Richard C.

“THE way to visit Easter Island”

“If you can afford it, this is the where to stay – especially if you’re traveling with family. The many exploration options and wonderful guides allow personalization of everyone’s activities. That way, one of you can just recover from jet lag, another can snorkel and another can take a great hike to visit the moai. The view from the lodge is beautiful. Our only complaint: we would like more variety in the food. Whole types of food: Italian, American and anything chicken seemed to be missing from the selection. We stayed four nights and would’ve liked another. It’s such a remote place and your chances or returning are so small, plan to stay a while.” PLVM

“Our second time back was even better than the first!”

“My wife and I were at explora Atacama in 1999 soon after it opened. We always thought it would be a great place to come back to when we had children. We just got back from a 6 day stay with our two teenagers (13 and 15). The Atacama was the perfect way for them (and us) to really push ourselves physically while also enjoying ourselves through a combination of strenuous treks (including a high mountain ascent) to less strenuous hikes and excursions. The guides were super friendly and knowledgeable and great at helping us pick out excursions during the time of our stay that fit with our goals and interests. The common areas at the hotel were inviting and comfortable and a great place to sit and relax at the end of the day before dinner. The food was great as was the service. Explora is not inexpensive, but worth every penny!” David M.
